The finance department ensures the organization’s financial stability and compliance by managing payroll, deductions, and benefits; overseeing accounts payable and receivable; preparing budgets and financial reports; and maintaining compliance with nonprofit financial regulations. It processes employee compensation, administers benefits and deductions, tracks incoming and outgoing funds, and supports audits to promote accountability. Collaborating with HR and leadership, the finance team aligns fiscal operations with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.

The Senior Finance Technician is responsible for the coding of timesheets, accounts payable and receivable invoices, ensuring correct distribution of income and expenses, issuing checks in a timely manner, operation of all payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions using an established computer program; maintaining the check registers, paid invoice files and all payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable records and performing internal financial and vocational audits.

They are also responsible for conducting the routine operations that keep things running smoothly such as preparing bank deposits, reconciling financial statements, producing payroll, paying the bills, adjusting financial records and preparing tax records
